We learnt that it’s not good to mix your cannabis with tobacco but some cannabis consumers find that they can get too high if they smoke their weed straight green; if your really feel the need to mix your buds there are some alternative herbs you can use to blend with your cannabis.

Mixing

When finding material to roll a joint, try and use undyed/ unbleached materials. Things like the packaging from a pack of papers have been dyed and can contain harmful chemicals when inhaled. Roach material can be purchased from most smoke shops.

A joint is definitely best enjoyed when shared but sharing joints can pose some health risks. Sometimes you never know what germs or infections the person you're planning on sharing a joint with has. To avoid receiving unwanted infections use a personal joint/ cigarette holder creating a barrier between the joint and your lips. If you don't have a joint holder it’s best to try and avoid sharing joints.

Sharing

Mixing tobacco with your cannabis increases harms to your lungs and can also increase chances of dependency. Tobacco is known to be a harmful and addictive drug, when mixed with cannabis, people often tend to become addicted to the tobacco and the combination rather than the cannabis itself. If you insist on mixing your cannabis refer to “mixing” for some tips.

Keep it straight green

A common myth when smoking cannabis is that if you hold in the smoke for as long as possible you will get a stronger high. This is just not true as it only takes seconds for THC to enter your system, holding the smoke in is only going to cause easily avoidable damage to your lungs so please look after yourself!

Inhale, Exhale

When trying a new product or consumption method always start by taking a smaller dose and slowly increasing your dose until you find the amount that's right for you. Hash is more potent than flower itself so you dont need to much to reach your desired effects. Remember, you can always take more but you can never take less!

Start low, go slow

As nice as a jozza can be, When burnt, cannabis contains harmful toxins which enter your system when smoked and inhaled. You can reduce these harms by switching up consumption routes. Edibles and oils are a "safer" option compared to a joint as no inhalation is required. If you're someone who enjoys the experience of inhaling cannabis, switching to a dry herb vape will reduce some of the risks involved with smoking, instead of the cannabis being burnt, it is heated up in a chamber releasing a vapor which you then inhale.

Switch it up

Although this one can often be tricky in an unregulated market it's best to know how your cannabis is grown. Some growers put pesticides and other nasty chemicals in their products which can be harmful when consumed.
